APHARWAT PEAK

Mostly known by the skiers, Apharwat Peak is the most attractive point in Gulnmarg. Located nearby Alpathar Lake, this peak is about 14 km from the hill station and can be accessed by gondola cable car from the base of the gulmarg. During winter this peak remains covered with snow and is trilling pint for skiers for an adventurous experience.

GULMARG BIOSPHERE

Gulmarg biosphere is one of the attractions missed by many but nature lovers cannot miss it at any cost. Its home to exotic and endangered species of flora and fauna, the reserve is known to be the home of the Musk Deer and wild range of avifauna. Among are other species like Snow Leopard, Black Deer, Red Fox and several other.

Its a dream come true destination for golf lovers. Span of 7505 yards and at the height of 2650m above the sea level, the gold course is amidst lush green meadow.

NINGLE NALLAH

Ningle Nallah is the name of a stream located 10 kilometres away from Gulmarg. The stream receives water from the lakes in the region and surrenders itself to the Jhelum river.

For those who love exploring destinations off the beaten path, the Ningle Nallah is sure to be one close to your heart. In summers the stream sings to the beautiful mountains which embrace it, while in winter it wears coats of snow which truly make it magical.

GULMARG GONDOLA

The cable car ride takes place in two levels/stages.

Phase I: from the Gulmarg resort to Kongdori Station (2600 m) in the bowl-shaped Kongdori Valley which takes 9 minutes to reach.

Phase II: from Kongdori Station to Kongdori Mountain (3747 m), the shoulder of Apharwat Peak which takes 12 minutes

In the third phase of Gulmarg Gondola project, 90 chairlifts were installed in 2011. The chairlift connects Kongdori to Mary Shoulder where many skiing events take place. It takes 11 minutes for the chairlift to go from one point to the other.
