Malaysia Visa FAQs
Yes. All Indians require a prior Malaysia visa before travelling to Malaysia. You can either get the Malaysia visa electronically (online) with an eNTRI or e-Visa or can apply for the visa at the Malaysian Embassy or Consulate via the Visa application centers in India.
With the Malaysian eNTRI (Electronic Travel Registration & Information) visa, you can stay in Malaysia for a maximum of 15 days. The eNTRI is a single-entry visa and should be used within 3 months from the issued date. This visa is applicable to you only if you are entering Malaysia from India, Singapore or Thailand.
With the Malaysia e-Visa, you can stay in Malaysia for a maximum of 30 days. The e-Visa is a multiple-entry visa and should be used within 3 months from the issued date. There are no entry/exit restrictions and you can enter/exit Malaysia from any country.
There is no facility of getting Malaysia visa on arrival for Indians. Indians nationals travelling from India to Malaysia will need to get the Malaysia visa before travelling to the country.
It is only possible to get a Malaysia visa on arrival in certain circumstances, i.e. if Indians are visiting Malaysia from a third country; namely Singapore and Thailand. However, the final decision to grant a visa on arrival is at the discretion of the Immigration officer at Malaysia. It is always advisable to get the Malaysia visa before travel in order to avoid last minute hassles.
Applicants travelling for a short period can simply apply for the Malaysia visa online through an eNTRI or e-Visa system and receive the Malaysia visas via email. For longer trip you will need to apply for a visa at the Malaysian Embassy or Consulate via the Visa application centers.
The Malaysia Tourist Visa (online visa) requirements are:

No, The Malaysia Visa does not guarantee that you are entitled to enter Malaysia. Upon arrival in Malaysia, your documents will be inspected by a Malaysian Immigration Officer who may determine whether you are in admissible for any reason under the Malaysian law.
You are strongly advised to purchase a health / travel insurance to cover yourself in Malaysia as medical treatment can be very expensive in Malaysia.
